Relationships and Marriage

All relationships face challenges, major and minor, and require work to remain successful. When challenges are left unaddressed, tension mounts, poor habits develop, and the health and longevity of the relationship are in jeopardy. As long as each partner is willing to address the issue at hand and participate in developing a solution, most relationship problems are manageable.

Some common relationship concerns include financial difficulties, poor communication skills, routine conflict, emotional distance, intimacy issues, and lack of trust. Sometimes the issue for unmarried couple is marriage itself, when one partner wants to marry, or is subjected to social or familial pressure to do so, and the other partner is reluctant or feels unready to marry. Couples who are considering marriage may seek premarital counseling for these and other issues.

PREPARE/ENRICH is an online assessment tool for both married and unmarried couples that want to understand and improve their relationship.

PREPARE/ENRICH addresses each couple’s relationship stage, situation, challenges, philosophical/spiritual orientation, and personalities and tailors the inventory to assess the couple’s strengths and areas where growth will bring about the greatest benefits.

New Life therapists who utilize the Prepare/Enrich assessment are Devra Canter-Morton, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Jency James, Licensed Professional Counselor.

Several New Life therapists offer couples counseling using a variety of therapeutic techniques.
