Jency James, M.A., LPC

 

Jency James received her Master of Arts in Counseling from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. She also holds a Masters in Library & Information Science and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

 

She is certified to administer the Prepare/Enrich program and Myers Briggs Type Indicator personality preference instrument. She is also trained in hypnotherapy.

 

In her previous profession, Jency spent 35 years helping people discover and process external information. Now, as a Licensed Professional Counselor, her role is to help people discover their own inner strengths and resources, and work with them on their life journeys. Her well-developed skills as a listener and information seeker support her clients in processing internal information about themselves and their relationships to better manage and map the complexities of their lives.

 

She provides services for individuals and couples managing depression and anxiety, stress management, mid-life transitions, confidence and self esteem issues, and the process of aging. Her therapeutic approach blends Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Mndfulness-based techniques. As a pastoral counselor, she offers additional support and guidance to clients with spiritual difficulties.
