MARRIAGE PREPARATION has long been a format at New Life Institute to assist those preparing for that endeavor. The most frequent manner is using the well developed and well known program, PREPARE/ENGAGE, based in Minneapolis. The couple spends an hour privately answering a questionnaire either in person or on-line. The results become the basis for sixty (60) minutes of discussion, focusing on a comparison of answers. Sometimes more time is needed to cover the issues that are raised. Also, sometimes, in the spring, there is enough interest to form a group, to meet for a full day, which enhances the process.
MARRIAGE SUPPORT - The creators of PREPARE/ENGAGE, Life Innovations of Minneapolis, also offer, through trained counselors at New Life Institute, Inc., MATE which is for married couples wanting to refresh their union. Like with PREPARE/ENGAGE, the couple spends an hour privately answering a questionnaire, in person, which is then sent to Minneapolis for factoring. The results become the basis for sixty (60) minutes of discussion, focusing on the differences in the answers. Sometimes more time is needed to cover the issues that are raised.
- Cost of both Life Innovations programs is $120 (including sixty (60) minute feedback). Additional time is $45/hr.
- Pre-marital counseling using the Life Innovations model is done by Bob Breihan, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Marianne Metzner, Licensed Professional Counselor, Devra Morton, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Lynn Meyer, Licensed Professional Counselor – Intern (see staff).
